As most I’ve said in some of my recent posts, we’re moving! We are actually closing this week! (HAPPY DANCE!!!)
We’ve been doing so many projects to get ready for the new house.
Like I’ve said before, the new house is not totally “move in ready” so we’ll have plenty of DIY projects to show you once we close!
A few weeks back, I wrote a tutorial that included some tips on painting furniture as . (In case you missed it, here’s the post!) as well as part 1 of a china hutch refinish.
Our new house has an eat in kitchen as well as a dining room. We currently only have a dining room table so we purchased this table set off of Facebook marketplace.
I knew I wanted to paint the table set white and recover the chairs in a “kid friendly”, easy to clean material.
As a fun side note, y’all may find this totally surprising with all the DIY projects I do but I finally FINALLY bought a spray paint gun!!! (CLICK THE LINK TO CHECK IT OUT!)
Y’ALL!! WHY!? WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO PURCHASE ONE OF THESE!?
I used this to spray the table and several of the chairs (I had already used a few spray paint cans to start on the first couple chairs while my spray paint gun was being delivered).
If you’ve been following along, you’ll know I usually use spray paint cans. But MAN!!! This gun is SO much faster!
I started by taking the seats off the chairs. I knew I wouldn’t be finishing all of the chairs on the same day, so to I wanted to keep everything organized, I labeled the inside of the seat framing as well as the bottom of the cushion.
Also, I taped the screws in a bundle to their respective chairs.
Next I turned the chairs over on their front and spray painted the bottom. Once that was dry, I turned it back over on it’s feet to spray the rest.
Once all the chairs were painted, I (eventually…) purchased some material and recovered the seats .
I also used the spray gun on the table top and legs… But I’ll have to roll those out in part 2 once we move in to our new house! The final product has yet to come together!
